*Geek Out*
I. Love. It.
Originally I went to Office Depot to purchase a Franklin Covey, but my beautiful green-leatherette choice was TOO BIG. Twice the size of the Filofax to be exact. That wasn’t the only drawback. The inside (while well-organized) wasn’t visually pleasing ( I prefer my planners to appear ‘open’ and ‘airy’. It gives me a sense of calmness before I go, “Oh sh**!” upon opening it), and the planner wasn’t dated for me. Ugh. I remembered that Katherine Heigl movie where she couldn’t live without her Filofax and thought, “I wonder how much those cost?” My Franklin Covey was $32-ish after tax. I went online when I got back to work and found out Filofax’s range from $20 – $thousands$. Who spends so much for an alligator skinned personal sized Filofax?! Somebody must, not me. I perused the choices and found one I loved instantly. It was a little brown, magnetic closing, personal sized Filofax. The girly, organized geek in me exclaimed, “Eeeeeeee!” Then I looked at the inserts. Oh my! Look!
It’s perfect. I couldn’t resist. I decided to Amazon.com it because I thought it would be cheaper. WRONG. After tax and shipping, it was cheaper (by 25 cents) and faster (by 3 or 4 days) to just buy the planner off of Filofax.com! I can’t wait for its arrival.
“What spurred this?” might you ask? Well, I’ve always been an organized person. Especially in college. I clung to my planner. Lately I haven’t been. I’ve taken on the task of reading some books: “Who Moved my Cheese?”, “The One Minute Manager”, “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People”, and “Getting Things Done”. I finished “Cheese” and I’ve moved onto “Getting Things Done” by David Allen. After two chapters I felt an impulse to me better organized. I’m always saying things like, “I don’t know if that weekend is open. I feel like it is, but uhhh…” or “There was something I wanted to give my mom for her birthday, but I can’t remember what it is! Ack!” Hopefully that will change.
I also feel like I need this control. As a recent college graduate without anything fulfilling happening (or so it seems) I sometimes get swept away in stress and anxiety. Maybe I can fight it with being organized and efficient. I’m “moving with my cheese” if you will…

Your first Filofax I’m sure will be followed by others… trust me people never know when to stop!

Congratulation!
I can agree with Steve, there will follow others
